Handleless, and What That Buys You
No handles means no hardware to date, no metal to clash with the rest of the room, and a completely flat front. In a bedroom where the wardrobe, the bed and the bedside tables all have their own detailing, a plain chest is what stops the room looking busy.
The honest trade-off: handleless drawers need a push mechanism or a lip to open. They are marginally less convenient than a handle, and mechanisms have moving parts that a handle does not.
Black Legs Against Cream
The contrast is what keeps a pale chest from disappearing into a pale wall. Slim tapered legs also lift the piece off the floor, so the flooring runs underneath and the room reads as larger — and you can vacuum under it.
Before You Order
Measure the wall, and leave about 50cm of clear floor in front so the drawers open fully. Check the doorway and lift — a six-drawer chest does not come apart.
Safety note: drawer units can tip if a child climbs on an open drawer. Secure it to the wall with an anti-tip bracket if there are young children in the home — our team can advise at delivery.
