Art Deco proportions with a tufted seat and back, in cream or ivory cloud. Geometric rather than curved, with the shallow, wide stance that period is known for.
Art Deco Without the Gold
Most furniture sold as Art Deco leans on metallics — brass trim, gold legs, mirrored panels. This one takes the proportions instead: a low wide seat, a squared-off back, and tufting used as pattern rather than decoration.
That makes it far easier to live with. A gold-trimmed chair needs the rest of the room to carry gold. A cream tufted one sits with almost anything.
Two Tones, Both Pale
Cream is the warmer of the two and sits naturally with wood floors and brass lighting. Ivory Cloud is cooler and softer, closer to white — better in a room with grey or black accents.
Both are pale. Tufting collects dust in the buttoning, so give it a vacuum brush occasionally — more relevant here than on a flat-surfaced chair.
Where It Belongs
A low wide chair suits a room with space around it rather than a tight corner. It works well as a pair flanking a fireplace or a console, which is how the shape was originally used.
Leave about 30cm of clear space on each side. Beside a sofa, keep seat heights within 5cm of each other — this chair sits lower than most, so check before pairing.
