A Plinth Base, and What It Costs You
The base runs flush to the floor instead of lifting the table up on legs. That makes a large square read as one solid form and stops it looking perched.
The trade-off is real. No floor shows underneath, so the table occupies more visual space than its footprint suggests, and a vacuum head will not pass under it. In a small living room, legs keep a space feeling more open — our marble table on slim steel legs is that option.
100cm Square at 43cm Tall
Suits a sofa of roughly 150cm and up, and works best where seating faces it from more than one side. A square is reachable from every direction, which a long rectangle is not.
At 43cm it sits level with most sofa seats. Leave about 40cm between the table and the seating.
White, Honestly
A pale table is the first thing you notice in a room and the first thing to show a mark. Rings, pen and scuffs all read clearly on white, and on a flush plinth the vertical faces catch feet and vacuum cleaners.
If the table will take daily family use, our walnut or oak version hides wear far better.
