90cm Round at 32cm Tall
The two-thirds rule puts a 90cm table alongside a sofa of about 135cm and up. At 32cm it sits well below most sofa seats, which suits deep modern seating and keeps the sightline across the room open.
The honest consequence of a low table: reaching a cup means leaning further forward than on a 45cm one. If you tend to eat or work in front of the sofa, our 45cm marble table is the standard height.
A round top also has no corners to walk into, which matters where the gap behind the sofa is tight, and it is safer around small children.
Stone on Steel
A stone top carried on a steel base. Steel lets the supports stay thin, so a heavy top does not read as a block — you see the floor running underneath, which is what stops a 90cm table closing in a room.
Stone stains. Coffee, wine and oil will mark it if left sitting, and a hot mug can leave a ring. Use coasters and wipe spills quickly. If the table will take daily family use with children, our wooden version forgives a great deal more.
A Single Surface
No drawer and no lower shelf — this is one clean top. If you want somewhere to keep remotes and magazines out of the way, our two-tier table has a shelf beneath.
