Modern Royal Blue Lounge Chair with Oversized Cylindrical Legs

Oversized cylindrical legs under a rounded upholstered seat, in royal blue or sand. The legs are the design — thick, tubular and upholstered rather than exposed timber or metal.

Royal Blue Is the Point

Sand is there for people who want the shape without the statement. Royal blue is why this chair exists.

Blue is the colour most people want in a room and least often commit to — it goes with wood, with brass, with white and with grey, and unlike green or terracotta it does not shift with the light. In a neutral living room, one royal blue chair does more than a rug, a cushion set and a piece of art put together.

Thick Legs, Practical Effect

Slim legs make a chair look light. Thick upholstered ones do the opposite — they ground it, so a chair with a rounded seat does not look like it is about to roll away.

The trade-off: less floor shows underneath, so in a small room this reads heavier than a chair on fine metal legs. Our C-frame accent chair is the lighter-looking option in a tight space.

Placing It

A coloured chair should be seen, so give it room rather than tucking it into a corner. Leave about 30cm of clear space on each side.

One blue chair reads as a decision. Two matching ones read as a scheme — which works, but commits the room.
