A standard dining table is 75cm with 45cm seats. This is 105cm with 85cm seats — counter height, the same as a kitchen island.
Two reasons that works outdoors. Sitting higher lifts your eye line over a balcony railing or a garden wall, so you see the view instead of the barrier. And a high table suits standing as well as sitting, which is how outdoor gatherings actually work — people drift between the two.
The trade-off is real: high seating is less comfortable for a long meal, and harder for older guests or young children to get into. For a family that eats outside every evening, a standard-height set like our foldable dining set is more practical and costs far less.
Slatted Wood on Metal
A slatted top drains rather than pooling water, and it lets air move through so the timber dries from both sides — which is why outdoor tables are built this way and indoor ones are not.
