Why a Vanity Rather Than the Bathroom
Bathroom lighting is the worst light in the house for make-up: overhead, cool white, and it throws shadows straight down the face. Make-up that looks right there often looks wrong once you leave the room.
A vanity lets you sit, work at eye level, and light your face from the front — and it frees the bathroom up every morning.
Storage Is What You Are Paying For
Make-up spreads. A vanity without enough drawers becomes a surface covered in products within a month, which defeats the point of having one.
Think about what you actually own before choosing between our designs — if it is a handful of items, a smaller vanity or even a dresser with a mirror above it will serve you better and cost less.
Lighting It Properly
Near a window is best — daylight is the only light that shows make-up as other people will see it.
Failing that, put a lamp either side at face height rather than overhead. Two table lamps in warm white flanking the mirror beat any ceiling fitting.
Space You Will Need
Allow about 60cm of clear floor in front for the stool and room to sit. Measure the wall and the walkway, not just the wall.
