When to Be Brave With a Single Chair
A sofa in a strong colour is a decade-long commitment. A single armchair is not — it is one piece, it can move to another room, and it costs a fraction of the sofa. That makes it the right place to take a risk with colour.
In a room of white walls, a neutral sofa and a wooden floor, one emerald or tangerine chair does what a feature wall, a rug and a piece of art would do together — and it takes up space you were going to fill anyway.
Picking the Colour
Emerald Green is the easiest of the bold three — it reads as a deep natural tone rather than a bright one, and sits well with wood and brass. Tangerine holds its warmth under UAE daylight where cooler colours wash out. Lemon is the boldest and needs the plainest room around it.
Cool Gray and Off White are there if the room already has its colour elsewhere.
Placing It
A statement chair needs to be seen, so give it space rather than tucking it into a corner. Leave about 30cm clear on each side. One coloured chair in a room reads as a decision; two or three read as a scheme, and you need to be sure about the scheme.
