Woven Rope Backs, and Why They Suit the UAE
A solid chair back traps heat against you. Woven rope lets air pass straight through, so the seat stays noticeably cooler on a warm evening — which is the difference between a balcony you use and one you look at.
Rope also dries fast. After a wash-down or an unexpected shower there is no padding holding water inside a solid frame.
The Yellow Detail
White frame, yellow rope. On a balcony this is deliberate — most outdoor furniture is beige, grey or brown, and a small run of strong colour is what stops a balcony looking like a waiting area.
It is also a commitment. Yellow does not quietly blend, and if your balcony already has coloured cushions or a patterned rug it will fight them. Against plain tile and a white wall it works.

Looking After It Here
- Wipe the frame and rope with a damp cloth; rinse dust off after a sandstorm rather than wiping it in.
- Bring cushions indoors when not in use — spun polyester handles sun well, but nothing survives five months of UAE summer unshaded.
- A cover through July and August will add years to it.
