Gold and Marble, and When It Works

This combination needs a room that can carry it. It belongs against a plain wall, with restrained furniture around it — the unit is the feature, so nothing else in the room should compete. In a living room that already has patterned wallpaper, a bold rug and a statement sofa, it will fight rather than lead.
