Why 90cm Wide Matters
Most full-length mirrors are 50 to 70cm across, which is enough to see yourself and nothing else. At 90cm this one reflects the room as well — and that is the difference between a mirror you use and a mirror that changes how the room feels.
Placed on the long wall of a living room, or opposite a window, a 90cm-wide mirror visibly widens the space. That effect is worth far more in an apartment than in a villa.
Sizing It Against the Wall
Leave at least 30cm of clear wall on each side. A large mirror pressed between two pieces of furniture looks squeezed no matter how good the mirror is.
Standing or Hanging
180cm works either leaning or mounted. If you lean it, anchor the top to the wall — a mirror this size resting on tile is a real hazard around children and pets.
If mounting, the bottom edge should sit 20 to 30cm off the floor so your feet stay in the reflection.
