A standard armchair is sized for sitting upright. This one is sized for the way people actually relax: sideways, legs up, curled into a corner of it. That takes width, and this chair has it.
It suits a villa living room, a large master bedroom, or the corner of an open-plan space where a normal chair would look lost. In a compact apartment it will dominate — our low seamless accent chair gives a similar look in a fraction of the footprint.
The Plinth Base
A solid wood plinth sits flush to the floor rather than lifting the chair on legs. That makes an oversized piece look grounded rather than perched, and it stops the shell reading as top-heavy.
The trade-off: you cannot vacuum underneath, and it reads heavier than a raised base. In a small room, height and visible floor are what keep a space feeling open.
White Bouclé at This Scale
A large pale chair is a large pale surface. Bouclé's looped texture hides small marks far better than a flat fabric, which is what makes it workable — but at this size, a mark shows more simply because there is more of it visible.
