Synthetic rattan handles heat and humidity far better than natural cane, which dries and splits. But direct, constant sun still fades it over years — a covered balcony is a much better home than an open roof terrace.

And a hanging chair moves. In strong wind it will swing and knock against a railing or wall. On a high floor, bring the cushion in and secure the seat when the weather turns.

Before You Order

Check the clearance. A hanging chair needs space to swing without hitting anything — allow at least 50cm clear on every side, and more in front.

Also check the ceiling or frame height. These sit low, and a chair that hangs too close to the floor cannot be got into comfortably.
