When You Need a Straight Line
Curved furniture has taken over: rounded sofas, arched headboards, circular mirrors, bouclé everything. In a room where all of that is already happening, one more curve disappears. A linear chair gives the eye something to measure the curves against — which is what makes both read properly.
It also suits a room with strong architecture: exposed columns, rectangular windows, a fitted kitchen visible from the living space.
Three Tones
Ash is a mid grey-beige that works with warm and cool schemes both. Graphite is the darkest and hides marks best. Off White keeps a small room open but shows more.
All three are neutrals. This is a chair chosen for its shape, so the colour should stay quiet.
Pillar Frame
The supports are solid blocks rather than legs, which makes the chair look grounded and substantial. The trade-off: it reads heavier than a chair on slim legs, and you cannot vacuum underneath it. In a small room, our wrap-around armchair on a raised wood base will feel lighter.
Placing It
Leave about 30cm of clear space on each side. Beside a sofa, keep seat heights within 5cm of each other.
