Why Vertical Stitching
Buttoned tufting collects dust in every dimple and dates quickly. Vertical channel stitching gives the same padded depth with none of that — the lines run top to bottom, so dust falls rather than settles, and the pattern reads as texture rather than decoration.
It also makes a headboard look taller than it is, which is useful in a bedroom with a standard ceiling.

Check the wall above your mattress for a window ledge, air-conditioning vent or shelf — a tall headboard needs clear wall behind it. Leave around 60cm of clear floor on each side you walk past, and measure your doorway and lift.
