Solid Wood, and Why It Costs More
Most TV units in this price bracket are MDF or particle board with a wood-effect veneer. They look identical on day one. The difference shows at the edges after a few years, where veneer chips and lifts and cannot be repaired — solid wood marks instead, and marks in wood read as age rather than damage.
If you expect to keep the piece through more than one apartment, this is where the extra cost goes.
