Why the Beige Shade Matters
A white shade throws neutral light. A beige one warms it as it passes through, so the light landing on the wall is softer and more yellow than the bulb itself.

Gold, and Where It Works
Metallic finishes read as deliberate when they repeat. If there is brass or gold elsewhere — a mirror, handles, a table base — this belongs. In a room of chrome and black metal it will look stranded, and our bronze lamp is the warmer-toned alternative.
Getting the Height Right
Beside a bed, the bottom of the shade should land at roughly eye level when you sit up, so the bulb stays hidden. On a console or side table, aim for a combined height of about 75–85cm from the floor.
