The headboard takes its detail from kintsugi — the Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with gold, so the repair becomes part of the object rather than something hidden. Fine gold veining runs through the upholstery in the same spirit.
A Quiet Centrepiece
Gold detailing usually means shine — metal frames, polished trim, brass legs. This does the opposite: the gold sits inside the fabric rather than on top of it, so it catches light only from certain angles and disappears from others. The bed reads as textured rather than decorated.
That makes it easier to live with than most statement beds. It will not date the way a heavily gilded frame does, and it does not force the rest of the room to match.

Before You Order
Gold works best when it repeats elsewhere in the room — a lamp, a mirror frame, a door handle. One touch reads as an odd detail; two or three read as a scheme. If your bedroom runs to chrome or black metal, one of our plainer velvet frames will sit better.
A platform base removes under-bed storage. Leave around 60cm of clear floor on each side you walk past, and measure your doorway and lift.
