Most tables at this length are 70cm or more from front to back. At 55cm this one leaves noticeably more floor between the sofa and the table, which matters where the walkway is tight.
The two-thirds rule puts it alongside a sofa of about 165cm. At 42cm it sits level with most sofa seats.
Two Fluted Pedestals
Rather than four legs or a single central base, the top rests on two fluted columns. The fluting catches light along its length, so a plain stone piece gains shadow and depth without any pattern or colour.
The practical effect: nothing at the corners to catch a foot, and clear floor visible between the pillars.
Travertine, Honestly
A natural limestone with visible pitting and layered banding. Every piece is different, so what arrives will not match the photograph exactly — that is the material, not a fault.
It is softer and more porous than marble, so it marks more easily. Coffee, wine and oil will stain if left sitting. Use coasters and wipe spills quickly.

This is solid stone. Our team carries it in and sets it in place; once down, moving it is a two-person job. Decide where it goes before delivery day.
