At 55 × 40cm the surface still takes a lamp, a book and a glass without crowding, which a narrow nightstand does not.
Handleless, and the Honest Trade-Off
Push-to-open keeps the front face flat, which is what makes a simple piece look designed. It also removes the one thing you grab in the dark half asleep. The trade-off is mechanical: a push latch has moving parts a handle does not. Ours are covered by the 1-year warranty, but a handled drawer will always be the simpler long-term thing.

At 50cm this sits at the lower end of our range — it suits a standard bed frame where the mattress top is around 50–55cm. The top of the table should be level with your mattress top, or within about 5cm.
