A pendant needs an existing ceiling point. Most UAE apartments are fitted with recessed downlights in a false ceiling and have no central fitting.
Without one you will need an electrician, and in a false ceiling that may mean opening a panel to run cable. In a rental, ask your landlord before ordering.
Why Frosted Glass Matters
Clear glass shows the bulb, which means a bright point you can see from across the room — fine for a decorative filament, harsh for anything else.
Frosted glass turns the whole globe into the light source. The output is softer, the glare is gone, and you can look towards it without squinting. In an open-plan living and dining space, where the light is in your sightline all evening, that difference matters.
Two Globes, Balanced
A single pendant lights one spot. Two spread the light along a line, which suits a rectangular dining table or a kitchen island far better than a single central fitting.
The gold frame ties into brass or gold elsewhere in the room — handles, a mirror, a table base. In a room of chrome and black metal it will look stranded.
How High to Hang It
Over a dining table or island: bottom of the glass 75–90cm above the surface.
Anywhere people walk: at least 2.1m from the floor.
The Bulb
Choose warm white, around 2700–3000K — warm light through frosted glass is what makes gold glow rather than look yellow.
