The Arch
An arched headboard borrows from architecture: a curve rising to a centre point rather than a flat top. It draws the eye upward, which makes a small bedroom feel taller than it is — the same reason arch mirrors work in apartments.
On a single bed it is a strong choice. A single frame is narrow, so a tall arch above it changes the proportions of the whole wall.
Velvet, Honestly
Velvet gives the deepest colour of any upholstery and shifts tone as light crosses it. It is the reason this bed looks more expensive than a flat-weave frame at a similar price.
It also shows the most. Marks along the headboard edge and at foot level will be visible in a way they would not be on bouclé. If the bed is for a young child, our rounded bouclé single bed forgives far more.
Before You Order
Check the wall height above the bed. An arched headboard needs clear wall to work — under a dropped ceiling, a bulkhead, or a shelf, the arch gets cut off visually and the effect is lost.
Standard Single Sizing
A single mattress in the UAE is 90 x 200cm. Leave about 60cm of clear floor on the side the bed is entered from, and measure the bedroom doorway before ordering — an upholstered frame does not fold.
